LE MOUFLON
Introduced in 1956, it is perfectly adapted to the southern mountains.
The wild mouflon, an ancester
of the domestic sheep had practically disappeared from continental Europe
in the 19th century. Today its population of about
a thousand has become the most important in metropolitan France.
